Year Two gardening club.
Making wild bird cakes, using bird seed and lard
Weeding and turning over the soil.
Watering the main plants, roses and marigolds.

Reception at sports day

What a fantastic sports day we've had.
We have taken part in the egg and spoon race, bean bag throwing, sprints and relays!!

Sports week in reception

What a fun sports week we have had!! We have practised our bean bags throwing in preparation for sports day.
We have learnt how to play dodge ball. And had so much fun!
We learnt some golf skills. Throwing instead of using clubs though, as they were too big. We had to throw the ball to hit the target using as few throws as possible.
We had a mini Olympics course with year one. Doing space hopper races, bean bag throwing, hula hoop spinning and tennis ball bouncing.
And played a fun and active game if bench ball, with a few twists to the rules!

Beanstalk update....

Back in April studied the book Jack and the Beanstalk and we all planted beanstalks. We watched them grow over the five weeks in school then at the Easter holidays the children took theirs home to see how they'd continue growing there.
Now in June we are getting some updates...Asmaa's beanstalk is growing huge, with lovely white flowers on the ends. Well done Asmaa it looks great!!

Children's holiday news!

Reception have been sharing their holiday news with their friends. It's sounds like some children have had some exciting visits!

Children have been horse riding and to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Gulivers World.

Benjamin has been to the Sealife Centre with his family.
Zoe went to Lyme Hall and wrote us a lovely letter.
Hashir went to the park with his family.
Asmaa had some delicious food out at a restaurant with her family.
Aiza has done so many amazing things. She went bowling, to the Trafford centre, food shopping, to the ideal home show and to an arts and craft fair where she made a super head piece!
Haytham went to Rochester Castle with his family.
We look forward to hearing about so many more.....

Welcome back to our transport and journey's topic.

Its lovely to see everyone back in school, with huge smiles and raring to get ready for year one!
We have started our transport and journey's topic, looking at the story the train ride.
We have been using the key words in the story to make sentences, and have been ordering the pictures in the story.
We have been searching for the key words in the sand.
And we have been making cars and trains to transport people in the construction area.
