Numbers, numbers, numbers

Number work this week.
We have been consolidating our recognition and formation of numbers 1-10. And some of us have been adding two sets of numbers together.

Police dog visitors

Reception have been learning a lot about what we want to be / do when we grow up. We have been discussing being police officers, fire officers, ballet dancers, footballers, road workers, builders, IT specialists and many more. We looked at what skills we need to have to become these professions.
We have learnt about people who help us and their jobs and have had police officers and police dogs in to visit.
We learnt all about their jobs, how they train and why they're so important to help us. We had such a fun time!

We are writers week

Reception are taking part in our 'we are writers' week. We are looking at what we'd like to do/be when we grow up. We have looked at different jobs and what kind of skills we need to have to be in that job.
We have decided we'd like to be police officers, fire fighters, ballet dancers, footballers, road workers, builders.....

We have done some writing to show what we'd like to do.

Friday Post 3: My busy body

We have listened to and started to learn songs related to our bodies and as a group worked together to label different parts of the body.

Have a look at some of our efforts...

We have taken part in activities related to our bodies and all the things we can do...

Working with a partner: throwing and catching

Aiming at a target

Great aiming!

Super effort!

We also talked about the effects of activities on our bodies.

Cooperative, outdoor learning

Hands-on practical investigation

Communicating our ideas and asking questions

Recording our findings using mark making

Creating skeletons and using vocabulary to talk about body parts

Consolidating our physical skills, using tools to manipulate and develop hand strength

Independent learning opportunities to encourage creative thinking and application of key skills

Using skills and making choices

Describing what we have made and presenting our efforts to others
